For so long I have been looking
At the gold traces around my heart.
I thought at first that they are there
Just to keep it all together.
As I kept looking in their direction,
They began resembling a map.
But a map of what?
Some kind of treasure?
Trying to make sense of this,
Suddenly the gold lines came into focus:
They were words!
Written in fire letters.
Words written on my heart.
Unreadable, though.
In a foreign language.
Not of this Earth.
God, what have you written on the human’s heart?
Some say it has something to do with destiny.
Others think it must be about identity.
A few of them can read the letters
But can’t put the words together.
Most of them, can’t see a thing.
And there are some
Who see them clearly.
And live by them.
Oh, how amazing!
My dear God,
What have You written ON MY HEART?
As I sat there, in silence,
Staring at my heart
I heard His familiar voice:
“Live out loud!”
Oh, how I’m not!
You bought my freedom
With Your life.
And You are with me
All the time.
You are my joy, my laughter and my life;
My tears, my sighs and my “why not?”-s
You are my breath, my sound, my sight.
How can I not live this life out loud?
So here today,
I stand and say:
I’m done trying to pay You back.
There’s no fine print in this exchange:
You died in our place and rose again.
It was pure love, and no regrets.
You’d never take that moment back.
Again, I stand and I declare:
I trust Your motives all the way.
My heart is free to live and sing,
Embrace Your freedom and finally breathe.
So, I’ll start living in such a way
That brings some ROI to the blood You shed.
There’s so much freedom in this place!
You have become my Hallelujah.
