Time is a resource, not a right.

The hardship of life has embedded into us a hankering for a job that leaves you with more than half an hour a day to enjoy our existance. Wanting to have some spare time to do the things you love is not wrong. But because of the pain of work costing so much life, we militate for time like it is a human right.

And that messes up with the perspective we have on time and its usage. The way we choose to utilize it comes from a place of rebellion. We think that we are fighting against the system, when in reality we are fighting against ourselves.

“If they use all my time at work, then I will use my ‘free time’ to just do nothing.”

And that is a tragedy. A waste of resources. A loss of life. What a sneaky way the devil has to steal from us! …convincing us that we are doing justice, that we are revolutionaries, that we are vindicated by wasting our lives. And the enemy has reached his goal by neutralizing us.

“It’s my right to have time!”, you might say.

No, you have time. and it is your right to steward it. The thing is, this resource it’s limited – it is not renewable. The amount of it varies from human to human, and when it runs out, it’s done. You don’t get a redo. Invest it wisely.

You don’t own the time, you use it.
