What a wild thought!
You lived on Earth thousands of years ago
Yet here I am, holding your words.
And not just me, but the whole world,
From one end to the other!
You bled your heart out on that paper
As you dug yourself from despair’s depth
And dove yourself with immense expectation
Into The One Who Holds Your Heart –
The One Who Was and Is To Come,
The great I AM,
Jehovah Shammah.
For ages now, so many hearts
Have also bled their pain out loud
Using the sound of your own heart –
A highway to the Father.
Scattered through history we are
Yet we all connect around your psalms.
We live, we laugh, we hope, we die
Reading your words and finding our lives
Into the pages of your trials.
You are a blessing to mankind.
You came into this world, and died
Like any other human being
But the way you lived sets you apart
From anyone in your own time.
…and so much more in mine!
Your writing tells the story of
A heart that is fully alive:
A bravery in authenticity
A fierce intentionality
A heart that feels its experiences.
A hope that never dies.
Oh, what a legacy you’ve left behind!
And after all was said and done
The only thing that mattered was
To know Him, The One True God,
And to be known by Him.
You left this world so long ago,
Still your legacy lives on.
Until the end of this old age
You will be quoted, known and read.
And this authentic life you led
Speaks a great amount of your true self:
A man after God’s own heart.
I can’t wait to meet you!
