What if the coming of Jesus will be like the story of the sunrise?
At the break of dawn the sky changes colors from black to dark blue, to light blue and then dark red. That moment brings you to awe and fills your heart with hope.
But after a short while, a dull light settles in and the dark red turns into a very pale red and then the sky almost loses its colors. And it stays like that for what seems to be forever…to the point where you wonder if the sun will ever show up. I can’t help but think of John the Baptist who asked “is it You or should we wait for another?” …before the sunrise takes the baton from dawn, there is a lot of waiting in a dull/frozen/still/colorless environment.
After that crazy amount of waiting, just like that, the sky and everything on it catches fire and very shortly after, the sun rises with high speed. You can see it with your own eyes as it arises to govern the day. In a matter of a minute or two, it has taken its place and it’s there to stay for a very long time.
I wonder and dream of that moment when He will set this world on fire and guvern it in plain sight.
Oh, come Lord Jesus!
